Mrs. George Hardenbrook passed away at her home in Maxwell Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1920, at the age of sixty-four years. She had been ill for many months and her departure to the world beyond was not expected. Her funeral was conducted Friday, Feb. 13 from the Methodist church of which she was a member, by the pastor, Rev. Howard P. Young. The Eastern Star lodge of which she was a member held their services at the church also. She was laid to rest in the Maxwell cemetery beside her husband who preceded her four years ago. Adaline Wells, daughter of Charles and Sarah Wells, was born April 27, 1856, in Bureau county, Illinois and came to Story county, Iowa, at the age of seven years and continuously living in the county till her death. She was married December 16, 1869, to George Hardenbrook and this union was blessed by eight children, five of whom are living. They are Mrs. Jennie Merrill of Neola, Iowa; Frank J. of Chicago; Harry F. and Joseph H., the latter of Little Falls, Minn.; Clyde G. of Des Moines. Mrs. Hardenbrook was a woman of sterling character and active in church and her her home. She will be greatly missed by her many friends. The community extend the most heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones.
