DIED.
At his residence in this county, October 7th of consumption, ERASTUS DEAN, aged sixty-one years.
At U. S. General Hospital, Camp McClellan, Davenport, on the 7th inst., of typhoid fever, SIMON M. CHENAWOTH, of Co. "F," 47th Iowa Infantry, aged about 19 years.
The body of the deceased was brought home for interment and funeral services were conducted at the residence of his uncle Ellis Armstrong, on Monday last.
The deceased was a printer, by trade, learning his trade in this office, and previous to his enlistment he was employed in the office of the State Register at Des Moines. he was ever prompt and faithful to his trust, and died another victim to the insatiable thirst of the Demon of Rebellion.
