Mary Louise (Schnur) Campbell, 67, of Burlington died Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.
Born August 28, 1950 in Marshalltown, Iowa she was the daughter of Ralph F. and Margaret (Howe) Schnur. She married Melvin Campbell on August 2, 1975 in Colo, Iowa.
Mary was a teacher for over 40 years. She taught home economics at Fox Valley Schools in Milton, Iowa and Huron, South Dakota, and was a substitute teacher in Burlington, Mediapolis and several other area school districts.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Burlington and taught Sunday school for children in the 1980's. She was very intricate at home economics and interior design and was an amazing cook and seamstress, even making her own wedding gown. She was a wonderful cook, a very classy lady and a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband Melvin Campbell of Burlington; one son Christopher (Jacqueline) Campbell of Ames, Iowa; one granddaughter Clara Campbell of Ames, Iowa; one brother William "Bill" Schnur of Colo, Iowa; two sisters; Elizabeth Ann Law of Altoona, Iowa and Jolene Van Waus of Colo, Iowa; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David.
The funeral service for Mrs. Campbell will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 3rd at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Melisa Bracht-Wagner will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 2nd at Lunning Chapel where the family will receive friends.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory for the Alzheimer's Association.
