FATAL ACCIDENT.--We have to record [here the] death of Mr. ---- ----------------- --------- ---------------- Sa---- ----------- ------- the ch------ --------------- ----------- twenty --------- ------- was one ----------- -----Nevada, --------- ------- -----------tor his ind----- ------ ------- and ter------ ---- ------ --------------by -------------- ----------------- consider--- [of?] ----- --------- age, but ------ ------- ----------- and had, ----------- ----------- ---good pro[spect?] ----------- years of ------ -------------. His native State --- ------ but he had lived some years in Ohio before coming to Iowa. His funeral sermon was preached from the pulpit of the Presbyterian church by Rev. Mr. Simmons, the Baptist minister from Boonesboro--Mr. Rhoads having been connected with that denomination. The deceased leaves a large family who were in great part dependent upon him for support.
Mr. J. M. Applegate fee from the same scaffold on the day previous, badly spraining his ankle, and after his accident the affair was replaced, as was thought with more than ordinary care. No want of attention in this direction can therefore attach to any one. It seems one of those sudden calls eminently calculated to remind us forcibly of the uncertainty of life.
