Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Myrle Shaw was born on July 17, 1920 in rural Story City to Guy and Cornelia (Jacobson) Rod. She married James Shaw on July 27, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died May 8, 1993. She worked at Bethany Manor for many years and she also worked at the natural gas company and catered weddings. Myrle was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and she enjoyed baking, cross stitching and enjoyed watching tv.

Myrle passed away August 22, 2018 at Bethany Manor in Story City at the age of 98.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan Peterson of Story City; a son, Mike (Patty) Shaw of Elkhorn, NE; five grandchildren, Todd, Lana, Tim, Tyler and Alison and eight great grandchildren, Josh, Jared, Jordan, Tommy, Rachel, Brandon, Jaxon and Madison.

Myrle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; twin brother, Myron Rod and two sisters, Glendora Proctor and Helen Heusinkveld.
