Obituary

Charles Mead died early Monday morning at his home in Nevada after a long illness with paralysis. He was not far from sixty years of age and had long been a widely known citizen of Story county. In Collins township, especially, where his home had been until a few months ago, he was one of the most successful and most highly respected farmers. He had been an invalid for several years, and last fall bought a handsome home in Nevada and moved to town. A prayer was offered at the house by Rev. Horswell this morning, and the family and more intimate friends of the deceased started about nine o'clock for Collins, where the funeral will be conducted this afternoon by Rev. Ferguson.
