MRS. L. A. BERKA DIED EARLY TODAY

HAD BEEN ILL FOR SEVEN MONTHS. FUNERAL TO BE SUNDAY AFTERNOON

Mrs. L. A. Berka, 73, died at her home at 330 Q avenue at 6:30 a. m. today, after an illness covering over a period of seven months. Death came to the mother just two months following the death of the eldest daughter, Mrs. Mayme Soper.

The funeral services will be held from the Bishop Funeral home, Fifth and Lincoln avenue, Sunday afternoon at 2:30, after which burial will be in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Berka, a native of Bohemia, had been a resident of Nevada for thirty-eight years, coming here with her husband and children from Chelsea, when her husband came here to take charge of a Northwestern section.

The family home was then established at 330 Q avenue and there their family of nine children were raised all of them growing to manhood and womanhood.

Four of the children preceded the mother in death, they being Mrs. Lotta Porter, Louis Berka, Jr., Fredric Berka and Mrs. Mayme Soper.

She is survived by her husband, three sons and two daughters. They are Milo Berka, Jerry Berka and Harry Berka, all of Nevada; Mrs. Betty Erickson of Nevada and Miss Louise Berka of Madison, Wisconsin.

She also leaves several grandchildren and many neighbors and friends who will join with the family in mourning her death.
