McLaughlin Burial Sunday Afternoon

The body of James McLaughlin, who died at a hospital in Mason City Tuesday night, was interred in St. Patricks' cemetery, this city Sunday afternoon at 3:30, Father M. Nichols of St. Patrick's church this city, in charge.

Funeral services had been held Friday morning at Rockwell, at 8:00, after which the body was brought to Nevada, arriving here that night over Rock Island and taken directly to the home of Mrs. McLaughlin's sister, Mrs. L. A. Flater on Lincoln avenue, where it remained awaiting the interment.

The burial, which had been announced for Saturday afternoon was deferred until Sunday afternoon, awaiting the arrival of the brother, Louis McLaughlin of Los Angeles. The sister Miss Catherine, who was also expected, was not able to make the trip.

Accompanying the body from Mason City were Mrs. McLaughlin and her three sons, Mr. and Mrs. Philip McLaughlin, of Mason City and Michael McLaughlin and Mrs. Flater of this city, who had been called to Mason City upon the death of Mr. McLaughlin.

There were many friends here from Colo and other points to attend the burial services. Mr. McLaughlin, a native of Nevada, and a son of one of the oldest families, was a man held in the very highest of esteem by all, and his passing is deeply mourned, not only by the immediate family and near relatives, but by a wide circle of friends both here and in the neighborhood in which he passed the last ten years of his life, near Rockwell, Iowa.
