BERTHA LEHMAN DIED EARLY TODAY

HAD BEEN SUFFERER FORM MANY YEARS -- WELL KNOWN IN NEVADA

Miss Bertha Lehman, 58, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Henrehan, 1337 Fifth street, at an early hour this morning, after a long illness.

The funeral services will be held at the Henrehan home Sunday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. J. O. Simon of Memorial Lutheran church in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Death was due to heart complications, from which she had been a long time sufferer. The decline in health dates back to the war period, when Miss Lehman had a breakdown while in charge of a college fraternity house at Monmouth, Ill., where a training camp had been established. Since that time her health had been failing.

She returned from California early this season, was at the home of the cousin Ben Grey and family at State Center until April, when she came to Nevada and was for some time at the home of Mrs. Carrie Hill. From there she was taken to Iowa sanitarium and remained there until the October 28, when she was removed to the Henrehan home, where the last six weeks of her life was spent.

Miss Lehman was born March 28, 1872, at the village of Guntersberg, near Krossen, Germany. She came to America in 1891 and made her home for two year with her aunt, Mrs. J. F. Grey and family, over in Sherman township.

Coming to Nevada she entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Mills and there she remained for over twenty years. Leaving the Mills home she spent several years in charge of a fraternity house at Iowa State college and later at Monmouth. In the meantime and since the war she had spent different periods in Germany with her people, and in California. She made four trips to Germany during her life.

She was a woman of many fine characteristics and was admired and respected by those who knew her.

She leaves as her only relatives in this part of the country, her aunt, Mrs. Grey, Sr., of State Center, who had looked after her interests during the declining days of her life. There are also two other cousins in this country, as well as relatives in Germany.
