DAVID SPENCER, AGED PIONEER IS DEAD
FUNERAL WILL BE HELD SUNDAY AT PLEASANT GROVE CHURCH
David Spencer, 90, died Friday afternoon at the home of his daughter Mrs. Calvin Randall, near Hollandale, Minn., where he has made his home for the past year.
The body will be brought to Story county and the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at Pleasant Grove church, after which interment will be in the cemetery nearby.
Mr. Spencer leaves one daughter Mrs. Edna Randall of near Hollandale and one son Arthur Spencer, who is now located in Wisconsin. Another daughter, Mrs. E. W. Saunders with whom he made his home for many years, died at her home near Gilbert about a year ago.
Mrs. Spencer and number of the children who passed away years ago are buried in the family lot in the Pleasant Grove cemetery.
Mr. Spencer lived for a number of years in Nevada, during which time he was generally employed by the Blackman Brothers in their gardens. Previous to that time his home had been northeast of Ames on a farm.
Mr. Spencer also leaves his sister Mrs. Clara Ellison of Nevada, a brother Will Spencer of Story City, one sister in California and another in Nebraska.
