Collins, Nov. 21--William Cook, 69, for forty-one years a resident of Collins and for the most of that time connected with the local station of the Milwaukee railroad died at this home here Wednesday evening at 8:30, heart trouble being the cause of death.

The funeral will be held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:00, after which interment will be in the local cemetery.

Mr. Cook, was a native of Fall River, Wis., where he was born January 8, 1861. He grew to young manhood there and later learned telegraphing and worked at different points in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

He came to Iowa in 1886 and became agent at Morley, and it was there that he was married October 19, 1887 to Miss Emma Wurzbacher. One child was born to them, a son Mancel, who died at the age of nine years. Mr. and Mrs. Cook came to Collins in 1889, where he took charge of the Milwaukee station.

He continued as agent for twenty seven years but was finally compelled to give up the work because of the failing health of his wife. He then continued as extra man, however, until about two years ago.

Mrs. Cook died January 8, 1917 and he was married the second time, March 19, 1922, when he took Sophia Crabb as his wife.

He is survived by his second wife and one sister, the latter living in New Jersey.

Mr. Cook was a member of the local Masonic lodge and Eastern Star chapter. He was a thirty-second degree Mason, being a member of the Des Moines consistory.

He was also a member of the Methodist church and was a man well known and highly respected in the community.
