ROLAND WOMAN DIED LAST NIGHT
MRS. TOM WICKS PASSED AWAY AFTER AN ILLNESS OF FOUR MONTHS.

Roland, Aug. 14--Mrs. Tom H. Wicks, 51, died at Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines, Wednesday night at 11:00, after an illness covering a period of 4 months, half of which time whe had been in the Des Moines hospital.The body will be brought back from Des Moines today and the funeral will be held at Salem Lutheran church, after which interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery. There will be brief services at the home at 1:00 and the service proper will be at 2:00 at the church. The funeral will be in charge of Rev. H. N. Bakke of McCallsburg.
Death was due to an infection of the brain, which has been threatening Mrs. Wicks for some time.
She leaves besides her husband, eight children. The four boys, Homer, Truman, Arlene and Harold and one daughter Seville, are at home. The other daughters are Mrs. Lewis Thompson of Jewell, Mrs. Melvin Michaelson of Radcliffe and Mrs. Levi Halvorson of Roland.
She was born on a farm north of Roland, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wilson. The father died a number of years ago and the mother in January. She leaves a number of brothers and one sister, they being Mrs. Isabelle Olson of Roland, Fred Wilson of Roland, Andrew Wilson of Hazel, S. D., and Ben Wilson of Madison, S. D. A brother Gus Wilson died about 8 years ago.
Mr. Wicks is a prominent farmer and livestock man of north of Roland and the family is a highly respected and prominent one.
