ROLAND MAIDEN WOMAN IS DEAD
GURINE WICKS, 44, DIED AT HOME OF SISTER SATURDAY EVENING
Special to the Journal.
Roland, July 7--Miss Gurine Wicks, 44, died Saturday night at the home of her sister, Mrs. Henry Twedt five miles north of Roland where she made her home for many years.The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 of Bergen church with Rev. Sunstad in charge and interment will be in the Roland cemetery.
Miss Wicks, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oley Wicks of Roland was a native of Norway, Europe. She came with her people to America when a child of about 6 years.
She had been ill for over two years. She first suffered an attack of erysipelas after which complications set in which finally claimed her life.
She leaves besides her aged parents in Roland, her sister Mrs. Twedt with whom she made her home, her sister Alice at home, and brothers Lars Wicks of Randall and Torger Wicks of Wright county.
