FORMER NEVADA MAN PASSED AWAY

"CAL" WELLS DIED VERY SUDDENLY AT LONG BEACH, CALIF., LAST WEEK

Calvin Wells, 85, eldest son of a pioneer Nevada township family died at his home at Long Beach, California, Friday, April 11, according to word received here by his niece, Miss Reine Wells.

Mr. and Mrs. Wells had celebrated their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary on the Wednesday before. While he had been a sufferer from a chronic trouble for some time, his death came very sudden.

Of the three sons of the Wells family, pioneers of Nevada township, but one, Sam C. Wells of Des Moines, survives. John M. Wells, another brother, died here a number of years ago.

Calvin Wells leaves a wife and one son, Claude Wells of San Jose, Calif., who is married and has two children.

The other son, Fred Wells, died 12 years ago in Utah from the effects of injuries received when kicked by a horse.

Mr. and Mrs. Wells and their sons had left Nevada for California about 25 years ago and their home had been in that state since.

During their residence in Story county, Mr. Wells owned and operated the Nevada township farm now owned by Homer White. After retiring and moving into town be built and for some years occupied the residence property facing on Ninth street off G avenue, now owned by Floyd Alderman.
