MRS. GROVE DIED HERE LAST NIGHT

HAD LIVED IN NEVADA FOR OVER FORTY YEARS--FUNERAL FRIDAY.

Mrs. D. M. Grove, 76, died at her home, 821 Eighth street, Wednesday night after invalidism of about fifteen years.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morfoot Funeral home, after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

The service will be in charge of Rev. L. E. Watson, pastor of the First Methodist church of Nevada.

Orra Bradell-Grove was born in Lee county, Iowa November 8, 1853. Her parents moved to Marshall county and later, in about 1874, to Carroll county where they settled on a farm.

It was there she met Daniel M. Grove and they were united in marriage January 18, 1877. In November, 1889 they moved to Marshalltown where they spent the winter and then moved to Nevada in March, 1890, which place has been her home, until death occurred at 7:50 on the evening of April 9, 1930.

Mrs. Grove during the first twenty five years of her life in Nevada, was active in social and club work and was a charter member of Chapter A. M. P. E. O. of Nevada, and also of the Clover club.

She was the constant companion of her husband in his long period as secretary of state merchants' organization and often accompanied him on various trips which took him nearly all over the middle west.

She was an invalid for the last fifteen years of her life and had lived largely in retirement. Quiet and care were necessary and that she was given constantly.

Mrs. Grove leaves her husband and companion of over 63 years and two sisters. One sister, Mrs. Lucy Hayner, lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma, while the other is Mrs. Hannah McGraph, who is on her way from Omaha to attend the funeral.

She also leaves a number of nephews and nieces, among them Ernest R. Crabb, former Nevada resident, who now lives at Fairfield.

During her about forty years residence in Nevada Mrs. Grove had made many friends, who have watched her long drawn out decline in health with deep regret and extend sympathy to the husband in his hour of deep bereavement.
