C. W. SCOTT DEAD BURIED WEDNESDAY

SERVED TWO TERMS AS MEMBER OF STORY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Colo, Jan. 6--Chas. W. Scott, 72, for over a half century a resident of in or near Colo, died at his home here Sunday, after a long decline in health.

The funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Evangelical church, with Rev. Park Miller in charge. Interment will be in the Colo cemetery.

Charles William Scott was a native of Illinois, where he was born November 28, 1857, one of seven brothers and one sister. The sister and one brother have preceded him in death.

He was married to Miss Mary Fosha at Baxter, in 1882 and their home had always been near or in Colo, and for two terms Mr. Scott served on the board of supervisors of Story county, his term ending in 1915.

Of later years he had spent most of his time upon the road as a representative of the Minnesota Steel and Machine company, but was compelled to give up work about two years ago because of ill health.

He leaves besides his wife, his son Ray Scott of Des Moines and the daughters, Mrs. Jessie Brouhard of Colo, and Mrs. Lillian Schuler of Des Moines.

He also leaves five brothers, they being Henry of Pueblo, Colo.; John L. of Glendale, Calif.; George of Wichita, Kansas; Ed of Nonval, Nebr., and T. O. of Phoenix, Ariz.

Mr. Scott has held many positions of responsibility and trust in the community in which he had lived so many years and his death will be deeply mourned.
