Phillip Fauquet of Ames died Monday, July 02, 2018, at his home in Ames. A visitation will be 4 - 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, at Collegiate Presbyterian Church 159 Sheldon Ave. with a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames.

Phillip John Fauquet was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 17, 1941, son of Paul and Bonnie (Brown) Fauquet. He attended Plattsmouth High School and then received a BA degree majoring in music education from the University of Nebraska. He served in the US Navy from 1961-1965 with assignments in Washington DC, the Navy School of Music, Yokosuka, Japan, and traveled with the Seventh Fleet as a band member in the Indo-Asia Pacific.

Phil taught instrumental music in South Sioux City, Audubon, Red Oak, Manning, Exira, and finishing the last 20 years of his career in Nevada, Iowa.

Phil married Linda Harris on June 1, 1972. They have twin daughters Emily and Sarah. He was a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Session, sang in choirs, and was a member of the CPC rummage committee. He enjoyed attending concerts, golfing, listening to the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and the University of Nebraska football games, reading non-fiction, the weekly Sunday brunch get-togethers with all of his dear friends, and most of all, loving and being with his family.

Phil is survived by his wife, Linda, his daughters, Sarah (Seattle, Washington), Emily (San Francisco, California), brothers Larry and Dan, and sister Joyce. Phil was preceded in death by his parents and twin sister Phyllis Jane.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Collegiate Presbyterian Church in honor of Phil Fauquet.
