Obituary From Mitchell Funeral Home, Marshalltown, Marshall County, Iowa.

Reno Ray Milligan, 85, of Collins, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2018 at the Israel Hospice Home in Ames, Iowa.

Reno Ray Milligan was born on September 22, 1932 in rural Marshall County to Earl and Elsa (Allspach) Milligan. He was raised and educated in the Collins School District where he graduated from Collins High School.

On March 4, 1956, Reno was united in marriage to Virginia DeReus in Mingo, Iowa. Reno was a farmer all of his life and always enjoyed seeing the first row of corn coming up every year. He loved his family, his land and his Lord. He had a passion for any project he could do with his hands including: woodworking, gardening, painting, welding and always had a project in mind (even in his final days).

Left to cherish Reno’s memory is his wife: Virginia; children: Mary Beth (Doug) Atwood, Kelly (Cheryl) Milligan, and Julie (Dale) Willis. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Toni (Ross) Primack, Shelley (Darin) Wing, Stefanie (Kris) King, Justin (Spenser) Atwood, Zachary Willis, and Danielle (Brandon) Haugland; great-grandchildren: Carter Willis, Parker King, Armor Haugland, Blair Atwood, Emerson Primack, Harlow Haugland, Taylor Wing, Chas King, Paige Atwood and Rockston Reno Haugland; and his siblings Joy (Darrel) Moses and Dolores (Charles) Leonard.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three older siblings, Earl Jr Milligan, Arnold Milligan and Romaine Loffgren.

Public visitation for Reno will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Reno’s family would like you to be a part of their evening to celebrate his life from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.. At 7:00 p.m. a time of remembrance will be held with sharing of stories, laughter and tears. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed in Reno’s name to his family which will be further designated.
