Bradley Alan Brown, 59, of Nevada, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Brad was born July 16, 1958, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ralph E. and Laurel M. (Simons) Brown. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1976 and served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1980. On September 14, 1991, he was united in marriage to Lori A. Decker at New Hampton, Iowa. Brad had worked for Almaco as an industrial painter and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada.
When Brad was young, he built and flew radio-controlled airplanes with his dad. He was also the band Expedition 70, playing at the Iowa State Fair and was the lead guitarist of Jesus Christ Superstar in high school. Brad was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs and the Iowa State Cyclones. He enjoyed fishing, pool, music and cars.
Brad is survived by his wife, Lori of Nevada; his daughter, Carrie Brown of Nevada; his son, Nickolas Brown of Nevada; his brothers: Robert Brown of Shellsburg, IA and Gary (Sandi) Brown of Merced, CA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister-in-law, Barbara Brown; and a great-nephew, Ryan Wichhart.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, May 11 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 12 also at the funeral home with Pastor John Molacek officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bliss Cancer Center or the Story County Animal Shelter.
