Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Paul Fjelland, 75, of Slater, passed away May 29, 2018. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 1 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Palestine Church Cemetery.

Paul Gladwin Fjelland was born July 26, 1942 to Herman and Elberta (Lehman) Fjelland in Los Angeles, California. Paul married Rosemary Joyce on August 30, 1963 at Palestine Lutheran Church in Huxley. He worked as a truck driver and was a car enthusiast - owning a 1935 Hudson Terraplane. He was a people person and loved to talk to people, especially about cars.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Fjelland of Slater; his children, Leslie (Tim) Daniel of Ankeny and Erica Fjelland and her children, James (Danyel) Holsinger and Rebecca Holsinger; four great-grandchildren; and his sister, Donna Fjelland of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Laura; and his son-in-law, Doug Boomershire.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family.
