Obituary from Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker, Walker, Minnesota.

Dale Rory Pierantoni, age 75, of Laporte, Minnesota passed away after a short fight with prostate cancer, on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. He was born to Avo and Adelaide (Vannie) Pierantoni on July 7, 1942 in Rock Springs, WY.

Dale attended and graduated from Laramie High School in 1960. He went on to college at the University of Wyoming, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. At the age of 19, Dale met the love of his life Mary Jameson while they both were studying at the U of W. They were married in Ames, IA on June 14, 1964. Dale began working for the Control Data Corporation in June of 1964 as a Project Manager and Engineer in Charge for the next six years, until he and Mary decided to move to Iowa in late 1970. He was hired as the Manager of a family-owned men’s store in Ames. It was there that he developed a liking for accounting. After 15 years as the store’s manager, Dale, decided to go back to school, attending Drake University in Des Moines, IA where he majored in Accounting and earned his CPA Certificate in 1987. Dale retired from Iowa Utilities Board in 2002 and joined Mary at Lake Kabekona in Laporte, MN where she moved in 2001. He was an active member of the Ames Golf and Country Club for many years. Dale loved to watch T.V., especially his football and basketball. He and Mary enjoyed going on long walks together before his illness. Dale’s three cats meant the world to him, so much so that he made sure he never forgot to give “Little Brown” his twice a day insulin shots.

Dale leaves behind his wife and best friend of 57 years; Mary Pierantoni of Laporte, his brother; Joe Pierantoni of Los Angeles, CA, sisters; Louise Morris of CO and Sandra Johnson of WY and cousin Amy Black of CO.

A Celebration of Dale’s life will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Lakeport Cemetery at Laporte, MN in the spring.
