Matthew Ross Hunter
September 14, 1972 - March 11, 2018Matthew R. Hunter, age 45, of White Bear Lake, MN formerly of Iowa went to rest on March 11th, 2018.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 18th from 4pm-7pm at Roseville Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, March 19th at Roseville Memorial Chapel followed by a luncheon at the Roseville American Legion. Burial will follow at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
Matthew was born September 14,1972 to Pamela and Gary. He attended Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Iowa. When he graduated, he enlisted in the United States Army and took great pride in his service to his country. His greatest military accomplishment was serving in the Honor Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. Matthew returned from the military to find a career in funeral service with graduation from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program. He worked in the funeral industry for many years serving grieving families throughout the Twin Cities.
Matt is survived by his children, Mason and Shanley, whom he deeply loved; parents, Pamela (Roger) Oliver of Ames, IA; Gary Hunter of Stratford, IA; siblings, Troy Oliver of Colorado, Lance (Christine) Oliver of Altoona, IA, Heather Hunter of Des Moines, IA, Anika (Doug) Blum of Adel, IA, Kate (Eric) Wilson of Washington; nieces and nephews, Nick, Allison, Trevor, Ashleigh, Andrew and Paisley along with friends and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made in his memory to United Heroes League previously Defending the Blue Line, a military organization meaningful to Matt.
