Jane Louise Strahn, 70, of Ames, Iowa died Friday, March 2, 2018 at Mary Greeley Medical Center, in Ames, Iowa. A graveside service will be held at the Gilbert Cemetery on April, 14, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in Gilbert, Iowa, a Celebration of Life will be held on April 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the 3M Recreation Building (900 Dayton Ave. Ames, IA 50010).

Jane was born August 29, 1947 to James “Bill” and Doris (Milhone) McClymonds in Leon, Iowa. She grew up in Corydon and graduated from Corydon High School in 1965, following graduation she went on to Iowa State University to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education. She married the love of her life, Thomas Strahn on October 2, 1966 in Corydon, Iowa. The couple was blessed with four children: Franklin, William “Billy”, Erica and Tom. She retired from 3M Corporation after many years, and multiple positions from the production floor to a procurement analyst in the front office.

Jane never met a stranger, she could and would strike up a conversation with whomever was willing to talk, and she continued to interact socially with her book clubs, game nights, and trivia. She was an avid golfer, loved going to the movies, plays, and a fan of ISU football and basketball. Above all Jane was a grandma, she loved to spend time with her family supporting her grandchildren in their activities.

Survivors include: Sister Ann McClymonds Williams, Children - Erica Strahn Marquette, Thomas Strahn, and grandchildren Connor, Allison, Kylie, and Elly.

She was preceded in death by: Children - Franklin and William “Billy” and Husband Thomas Strahn.
