Janice Joy Ferguson, 77 of Audubon, IA passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital in Audubon. Our immediate comfort is in knowing that she loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind and at this moment, she is with Him in Paradise.

Janice was born May 21, 1940, in Maxwell, the daughter of LeRoy and Marjorie (Anderson) Sargent. She graduated from Shipley High School in 1958 and was united in marriage to Dwayne Ferguson on October 17, 1959, in Des Moines. Janice enjoyed word puzzles and watching her stories on tv. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and connecting with loved ones and friends through Facebook.

Janice is survived by her husband, Dwayne of Audubon; her daughter, Faith Anthony of Audubon; her sons: Timothy (Lori) Ferguson of Aberdeen, Maryland and Matthew (Beka) Ferguson of Washington D.C.; her brothers: Richard (Jody) Sargent of Fountain Hills, AZ and Jerold Sargent of Tulsa, OK; her sister, Robin Iiams of Kansas, OK; her grandchildren: Jared Anthony and fiancé Jessica, Nicole (DJ) Alemán, Kristen (Sean) McCall, Taylor Ferguson and significant other Aaron, Joshua Ferguson, Emilee Ferguson, Gabriella Ferguson, Preston Ferguson, Nicholas Nieves, Olivia Ferguson and Addie Ferguson; and her great-grandchildren: Felix McCall, Oliver Alemán, Fiona Anthony, Lillian Crane and Lyla Crane. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Sargent and sister-in-law, Della Sargent.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 20 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell (422 First Street). Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Maxwell. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to join the family at Loring United Methodist Church for a luncheon. There will also be a memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church (326 Leroy Street, Audubon).
