Juanita Sandra Young, age 72, of Ames, passed away, Wednesday October 25, 2017, at Accura Healthcare of Newton West, in Newton, Iowa. A gathering of friends and family will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care in Ames.

Juanita was born on December 9, 1944, in New Madrid, Missouri, to William and Virginia Young. Juanita graduated from Sumner High School in June, 1962. After graduation Juanita worked for Ralston-Purina for several decades as an Investment Data Entry Specialists. Family was very important to her. First establishing residence with her parents in St. Louis, then, after the death of both her parents, relocating to Ames, where she would be close to Edna and Wayne. Juanita enjoyed photography, attending musical productions and concerts with her niece, Danielle, and brother, Delbert.

Left to cherish Juanita's memory are her siblings, Edna (Wayne) Clinton of Ames, Delbert Van Young of Ames; her niece and nephews, Antwan (Tawana) of Jessup, Maryland, Danielle of St. Louis and Aaron (Jessie) of Ames; several aunts and uncles, many great and great-great nieces and nephews; plus many more cousins.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and older brother, George Ralph of Chicago.
