Erma Bell Wilson, age 83, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Story County Senior Care surrounded by family.
Erma was born on February 5, 1934 in White Oak, Iowa to Mina (Shearer) and Lester Williams. She was the oldest of three children and grew up on a farm south of Cambridge.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and her sister, Joyce Williams, went everywhere together running errands for kids, getting kids to athletic practice, picking up sick grandkids and making sure everyone had everything they needed.
Erma was an avid fan of the Ballard Community School Athletics program. She was a longtime Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed Hawkeye and Cyclone basketball.
Erma is survived by her son Roy (Barb McBreen) Wilson; her grandchildren: Michele (Dan) Doddema, Janel (Gianni) Comito, Travis (Sara) Wilson, Jessica (Jacob) Eyanson; great grandchildren: Mason, Casey, Sydney, Matteo, Breck, Brayden, Max, Zoe, Peyton; Clarabelle; her sister Joyce Williams; her sister-in-law Norma Williams and niece Bobbi (Mike) Miller.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband Bob Wilson; her parents, Mina (Shearer) and Lester Williams; her brother Vern Williams.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, September 20 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21 at 10:30 a.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Cambridge Cemetery with a lunch following at the Dorcas Hall in Cambridge.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Dorcas Society or Ballard Athletic Booster Club.
