Mrs. Mary I. Greenleaf
Mrs. Mary I. Greenleaf, sister of Dr. J. I. Hostetter and for many a frequent visitor to her brother's home in Colo, died Sunday in the Methodist hospital at Des Moines as the result of pernicious anemia. She had been for three weeks in the hospital and before that she had been for two weeks in Colfax. She was attended in her last hours by her brother and their sister, Mrs. Reichard of Des Moines. Her husband was Frederick W. Greenleaf, a naval officer and since his death seven or eight years ago she had lived at Andmore, Oklahoma, where she found employment for her rare musical gifts in the conduct of a large music class. She was very attractive as well as talented woman, and her death is very much regretted by all who came within the circle of her pleasing influence. She will be buried beside her husband at Mt. Carroll, Ill., where was the old family home.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: The deceased, Mary Irvine (Hostetter) Greenleaf; her brother, Dr. John Irvine Hostetter and her sister, Virginia W. (Hostetter) Reichard were the children of John Lichty Hostetter and Mary Anne Irvine.
