Mrs. William Wolford

Caroline Scott was born at Dillon, Tazewell county, Illinois June 18, 1845. There she grew up, was married to Wm. M. Wolford, August 3, 1865. They continued to live in Illinois till they moved to State Center, Iowa in 1894 and in 1898 they moved to Zearing where they lived till the fall of 1911 when they had to break up housekeeping on account of Mrs. Wolford's failing health. They now made their home with the children, and she died at the home of their daughter, Emma, Mrs. T. E. Leonard of Lee Center on May 6, 1913, aged 67 years, 2 months and 18 days.

Two of her children, Albert and Edward, have preceded her to the grave. There remain her husband, three sons, and two daughters, who are Frank of Butterfield, Minn., Florence Fisher of Dellavon, Ill., Mrs. Emma Leonard of Lee Center, Charley of Iona and Harry of Zearing. Besides these there are fourteen grand children and three brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Wolford was much afflicted but bore her affliction with Christian fortitude.

The funeral was conducted Friday, May 9 at 1 o'clock from the United Evangelical Church at Zearing, Iowa, Rev. W. G. Mohlemen of Lee Center assisted by Rev. D. C. Busenberg of Zearing. She was interred in the Zearing Cemetery.
