OBITUARY
ROBERT RAHFELDT
Robert Rahfeldt, 86, of 511 Crawford, Ames, a former rural Zearing resident, died Wednesday, May [June] 5, 1985, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Saturday, June 8, at Bethel United Methodist Church in Zearing. Burial will be in Zearing Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 pm Friday at Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing.
Mr Rahfeldt was born on the family farm south of Zearing June 2, 1899, to Albert F and Sarah C (Spurlin) Rahfeldt. He farmed this with his brother, Eddie, until retiring approximately 20 years ago. He lived on the farm until health made it impractical (about five years ago), and he then moved to Ames.
He attended a country school near the farm. Growing up years were devoted to operating and maintaining the farm with his brothers, sisters and father, as their mother died while he was a youngster. Church association, fishing and his friends were very important to him.
Survivors include a brother, William, of Colonial Manor; a sister, Lydia Gull of Zearing, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charlie, Fred and Eddie, and sisters, Lottie and Nellie.
Friends may make gifts to Bethel United Methodist Church rather than send flowers.
Rev Jeff Carter will conduct services.
