MRS. J. C. ELZY
Mrs. J. C. Elzy, widow of the late J. C. Elzy of this city, died Sunday at the home in Collins of her daughter, Mrs. Jones, and was buried here today. She and her husband formerly lived for many years in the northwest part of this city and she was then [unable to read last lines.]

MRS. M. A. ELZY
Mahala Ann Crisp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Crisp was born in Kentucky, Oct. 16, 1824 and departed from this life Feb. 9, 1913, aged 88 years 3 months and 24 days.
In 1833 she moved with her parents to Indiana where she was married Dec. 21, 1847 to Jesse Marsh, who died Feb. 15, 1855, to this union were born 4 children; Giles Smith, who died in infancy, Charles Wesley, who died Jan. 23, 1912; Mrs. J. M. Jones, who lives in Collins, Ia. and with whom she spent the last few years of her life and William Clark, who died March 18, 1891.
She was married to Isaac Emely Nov. 2, 1858, who also died. To this union were born 3 children, Phebe Ann Harrell, who lives in Nevada, Ia.; Joseph Franklin, who died July 24, 1905, Flora Alice White who lives in Grinnell, Ia.
She moved to Story County, Iowa, April 8, 1894, where she married J. C. Elzy April 30, 1874, who died Feb. 12, 1899. Besides her daughters now living she leaves 5 step children, Charles E. Elzy of Harlan, Ia., Robert A. Elzy of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mrs. Hester Harlan of Macksville, Kan., William J. Elzy of Lovell, S. Dak., and C. E. Elzy of Nevada, Ia. Besides these she leaves 1 sister, Mrs. Phebe Hunt of Corning, Kan. She has had 20 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Mother Elzy united with the M. E. church when 13 years of age in whose faith she remained until her death.
Funeral services were held at the J. M. Jones home at 9:30 a. m. Feb. 11; interment was in the Nevada cemetery Rev. A. V. Hart of the Christian Church officiating.
