MRS. PHOEBE ANDRUS

Mrs. Phoebe Andrus died late Saturday night at the home in Nevada township of her daughter, Mrs. C. Ray McConnell. She was born Phoebe Reynolds in Hart county, Ky., on December 17 1835, and at her death on February 8, 1913, she was aged 77 years 1 month and 22 days. She removed with her parents in childhood to Abingdon, Illinois, taught a few years and was married in 1855 to Richard Andrus. Mr. and Mrs. Andrus removed to [unable to read] this state [unable to read the last 3 lines in this column] most part with Mrs. McConnell. She is survived by 19 of 26 grand children. She was a member of the Church of Christ and her funeral was conducted from the church in this city Monday forenoon by the pastor, Rev. Ruppert, assisted by her son-in-law, Rev. Hastie of Omaha. Mrs. Andrus was woman very much esteemed, and her funeral was attended by a large congregation from the neighborhood to which she lived and was best known.

Her children join in expression of gratitude for kindnesses shown and experienced in the time of her sickness and death.
