ANTHONY HALE

Anthony Hale, a respected and long time resident of Story County, died February 3, 1913, at his home in Blairsburg, Iowa, aged seventy-nine years and five months.

Mr. Hale was a native of Gloucestershire, England. He came to New York with his parents in 1851, thence in 1860 with his new wife to cook came to Illinois, in 1871 to Collins township, Story county, Iowa, and in 1891 he moved to Nevada where he remained several years and went hence to State Center, Webster City and five years ago to Blairsburg. Mrs. Hale and their sons Howard of Blairsburg and James E. of Collins, and their daughter, Mrs. Alie Day of Blairsburg, survive him. He was one of the early settlers who helped materially in the development of the south part of Story county was esteemed and was honored with the office of supervisor for two terms.
