Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
Larry Bilbrey age 67 of Ames, passed away peacefully at his home on May 6, 2017.
Visitation and funeral services for Larry will be held on May 9, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames. Burial will be at Ames Municipal Cemetery following the service.
Larry was born December 24, 1949 in Great Bend, Kansas to Jesse and Bonnie (Shelton) Bilbrey. He married Anna Alberta Blair in Tennessee in 1978. He was a good and loving husband to Anna. They had many fun filled trips to Prairie Meadows where Larry tried his luck at the slot machines. Larry enjoyed his career in plumbing. He met his best friend Dan Wonders through his career with Wonders Plumbing. Larry and Dan raced in the cruiser class at Boone Speedway. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and any kind of sport on tv that he could. He loved to fish and would take anyone that would go along.
He is survived by His wife Anna Alberta Bilbrey of Ames; his son Jeff Bilbrey of Boone, his daughters Cindy and Michelle Bilbrey of Des Moines; his siblings Donna (Duke) Smith of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Gary (Ginny) Bilbrey of Mesa, AZ, Linda Thoren of Ankeny, and Connie (Steve) Navarro of Hutchison, KS; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Judie Withington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Adams Funeral Home in Ames is assisting the family with arrangements.
