OBITUARY OF WILL BRODIE
Young Man Had Been Manager of Mother's Business
Willie A. Brodie was born near Maxwell, Iowa, Sept. 3, 1893, and departed this life at his home near Nevada Iowa, Dec. 1, 1913, at the age of 25 years,, 2 months and 28 days. He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Brodie. His father died Nov. 25, 1913. Willie leaves to mourn their loss his mother, five brothers and four sisters. They are Kenneth, Walker, Mrs. Mabel Larson, Mary, Jennie, John, Andrew, Ralph and Roselma. He also leaves an aged grandfather, W. H. Guge, who has made his home with the family for many years.
After the death of the father, the three older brothers managed the farm until the marriage of Kenneth and the calling of Walker to the service in France. Since then Willie has been the main support of his widowed mother and younger brothers and sisters. He has been faithful in the discharge of those duties and will be greatly missed in the home.
He was an honored member of the Modern Woodmen of America and a member of the Brotherhood of the Presbyterian church of Maxwell. He was an upright moral character and was greatly loved and respected in the communities in which he had lived. Prayer was held at the home Monday afternoon, Dec. 2, 1918, at one o'clock by Rev. D. C. Busenburg, who also had charge of the burial service at the cemetery in Iowa Center, where the remains were laid to rest.
