TWO BROTHERS "FLU" VICTIMS
Former Residents of McCallsburg Died in Montana.
In a letter from Mrs. Harvey Rogers, a former resident of Story county who has been living in the west for some years she encloses a newspaper clipping telling of the sad death of two of her sons, who passed away victims of pneumonia following influenza, within two days.
The letter was written from Lewistown, Mont., under date of November 30. Mrs. Rogers will be remembered as a resident of McCallsburg a quarter of a century ago. Her husband, who is now dead was a contractor and builder. The news clipping, which is headed, "Brothers Die of Pneumonia," says:
"James H. Rogers, aged 30, well known rancher, residing about four miles out on the Fort Maginnis road died Thursday night of pneumonia. His brother, Fred E. Rogers, aged 28, who resided near Battrick, died on pneumonia some time Wednesday. James H. Rogers is survived by a wife, who is reported to be very low with pneumonia and not expected to live, and little daughter. His brother Fred is survived by a wife, but no children. It is also reported that another brother, Archie, residing near Grass Range, has pneumonia.
"The mother, Mrs. Harvey Rogers came in yesterday and is stopping at the Bright. The burial of the brothers will take pace at 3 p. m. today, but without funeral services of any public attendance. Rev. George Hurst will be in charge and will offer a prayer at the grave.
