Accident at State Center
One young man was killed and another had a fortunate escape on the tracks of the Northwestern railroad Sunday near State Center. Ernest Neidert, a young drug clerk in State Center, was killed, and Virgil Amos, son of a farmer southwest of Nevada was knocked down and stunned but not seriously hurt. The two were walking in the tracks and in getting out of the way of one train they got in or near the way of another that was going in the opposite direction. They did not see the train coming up behind them; and it was only by chance that Neidert was run over and ground up; while Amos was simply bumped around. Amos was at first reported here as having lost his arm but he came home this morning-- somewhat battered but all of him.
