OBITUARY

EUGENE COGGSHALL DEAD.

Eugene Coggshall, for mny years one of the prominent farmers of this county and for the past year a resident of Nevada, died Wednesday eveneing at the home in this city of gangrene, the result of a sore toe. The trouble had continued for some time and necessitated an amputation two weeks ago but gangrene followed and his death resulted.

Mr. Coggshall was born December 22, 1846, near Winslow, Illinois, and died as stated at Nevada, Iowa, October 2, 1907, aged 60 years, 8 month and 10 days. He came from Illinios to Story county in 1868 and settled on his farm four miles northeast of Cambridge. He was married on January 1, 1873, to Miss Mary A. Braddy* of Winslow; and together they occupied the home farm until about a year ago, when they removed to Nevada. He was a successful farmer and for many years was a pillar of the church in the Jefferson neighborhood. His brothers Myron and John died a few years ago; but his other brother Jackson lives at Iowa Center. He is survived by his widow and by three children, Lena, now Mrs. Chas. Bear of Dolores, Colorado; Frank, who occupies the home farm; and Clarence, who lives in Chicago.

His funeral will be conducted from the Methodist church this afternoon by Rev. R. E. Shaw.
