Hattie Pentz is Dead.
The death of Miss Hattie Pentz occurred July 9 at Maxwell where Miss Pentz was visiting her sister, Mrs. Frank Cook. Her illness was short beginning July 5th with an obstinate case of nose bleed from which she never rallied much. The eighteen and a half years of her life had been spent in Collins with the exception of the last year, during which the family residence has been in Cedar Rapids. She was the ninth girl in a family of eleven daughters and one son--the children of W. J. Pentz, a veteran of the civil war. Her death is the first to break the family circle. She had developed lovely womanhood and at her funeral, which was held in Collins, Wednesday, July 10, the tributes of affection were many and beautiful.
