OBITUARY

Death of Arthur Stevens

Arthur Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stevens of Des Moines, died at the parents home Thursday evening, and his funeral will be conducted from the Presbyterian church in this city Sunday afternoon at two o'clock by Rev O. H. Mason of Boone. The deceased was a young man of especial promise, twenty three years of age and the elder of the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Stevens, the latter of whom was Miss Hattie Child. He was a graduated of the Boone high school, and the pall bearers of his class. He had been in poor health for a year or two, but had recovered; and the illness from which he died was spinal meningitis, dating only from last Saturday and not appearing to be dangerous until an hour or two before his death. His uncles, Harry and Bert Child, went to Des Moines this morning; and are with their sister and brother in law in their time of great bereavement.
