MAXWELL
Sudden death of a pioneer resident, Mrs. Rachel A. Donahoo, passed away suddenly on Friday last at seven a. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Brodie with whom she has been living for the past year. Mrs. D. spent the day previous with her brother, W. V. Smith, returning home in the evening. During the night she was taken sick and died as above stated. Heart trouble seems to have been the cause. Mrs. D. came to this country about fifty years ago and after her marriage to Mr. Andrew Donahoo settled near the south line of New Albany township. She raised a large family of children who are mostly settled in this vicinity. She was a good mother, a devoted Christian, a good neighbor and one who always carried pleasant smile and looked upon the bright side of life. The funeral was held in the Christian church. Sermon by Rev. Burton, pastor of the U. B. church of Collins. it was an interesting and appropriate sermon. The remains were taken to the Iowa Center cemetery and laid by the side of her husband who died several years ago.
