MAXWELL
Tribute to Mrs. Scoles.
Truly, a mother in Israel has gone to her reward. Mrs. Sarah Scoles, aged eighty years, died on last Friday evening, and funeral services were held in the Methodist church on Sunday at two p. m. conducted by Revs. Sparks and Lott. Mother Scoles had been a faithful, loyal member of the Methodist church for over sixty-eight years. She was not only faithful but actively identified with all interests of the church. She was converted when but twelve years of age and always maintained a consistant Christian life. Her home life, her daily walk and conversation were a constant testimonial of the reality of her Christian experience. Those who knew her best never questioned the sincerity and the loyalty of her devotion to her heavenly Master. She was faithful to all the services of the sanctuary. The illness that resulted in her death was only the three weeks duration and all through it she was patient. She preferred to remain longer with her loved ones but was perfectly resigned to the will of God. When told that her life was drawing to a close and asked if she had anything to say, she hesitated a moment and then said, "No, let my life speak for itself." The interment was in the Maxwell cemetery where her remains rest beside those of her husband, William Scoles.
