OBITUARY

Death of Hans Rasmussen

Hans Rasmussen, a Danish pioneer who has lived four miles northwest of Nevada for nearly forty years, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1907, aged nearly eighty-two years and his funeral was conducted from his late home Thursday, by Rev. J. O. Simon. Mr. Rasmussen imigrated to Illinois in 1866, and came to Story county a year later. He was a Lutheran by confirmation, and died professing that faith. Mrs. Rasmussen and his sons John and Ludvig survive him.
