From Nevada Representative October 3, 1906

Daniel Higgins [sic], who until about a year ago lived between Ontario and Gilbert, was found dead near La Porte, Indiana. The body was fond in the woods, badly decomposed, and it seemed that death had occurred several weeks previous. The cause of Mr Higgins' [sic] death is a mystery. John Higgins [sic] of Ontario, a brother of the dead man, left for LaPorte, to investigate the matter.

Word was received here last week that Dan Diggins had committed suicide at LaPorte, Indiana. Up to this time no details are at hand.
