Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Phyllis Arlene Oakland was born February 22, 1923 to Archie and Percy (Bergeson) Reisetter near Radcliffe, Iowa. She married Henry Oakland on December 25, 1942. Phyllis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed caning vegetables from her garden, a good round of golf, and painting. She loved all kinds of flowers and sold Avon for 51 years.

Phyllis died March 8, 2017 at Bethany Manor in Story City at 94 years of age.

Phyllis is survived by her four sons, James (Sherry) of Lennox, S.D., Merle (Kathy) Oakland of Cedar Falls, Roger (Lois) Oakland of Story City and Arlen (Lurene) Oakland of Ankeny; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; her sister, Joyce Hughes; and a brother, Howard Reisetter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry, on July 18, 1995; and three brothers, Gene Reisetter, Carrol Reisetter, and Don Reisetter.

Burial will follow the funeral service in Greenwood Cemetery near Ellsworth, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is assisting the family with arrangements.
