Ole Apland, a former resident of this community, dropped dead from heart failure on the streets of Des Moines last Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Apland in company with his brother Peter took dinner with their mother at Huxley on Wednesday and took the first car down from Huxley in the afternoon. Mr. Apland had complained of illness on several occasions of late, but the attacks soon passed away and diagnosis had been made of his ailment. The remains were taken to his late home at Hardy, where services were held Saturday. The remains were then transported down here, where services were held Tuesday morning after which the remains were laid to rest in Bethlehem cemetery, where two of his children have been buried.
