Mrs. Ole Rasmussen of Roland died at her home there on Wednesday morning following after only a few weeks her husband, who died early in April. They were old residents of Howard township, having come from Norway in the days of their youth and lived and prospered in this country. In recent years they had lived in Roland, and they were long greatly esteemed by all who knew them. Mrs. Rasmussen leaves a family of eight children.

Death of Mrs. Ole Rasmussen
The death of Mrs Ole Rasmusson last week was a shock to the neighborhood, coming so soon after the death of her husband, Ole Rasmussen. The passing away of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmussen reduces the ranks of the pioneer settlers of this part of the county. For many years they lived on their farm northeast of Roland. There their children were born and raised. A few years ago they sold the old homestead to M. O. Ferkin and moved to Roland where they had since resided. With the exception of Consul B. M. Rasmussen*, now stationed at Stavanger, Norway, the children were all present at the funeral of both father and mother.
*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: "B. M. Rasmussen" was the son of the deceased, Bert Mathias Rasmussen.
