Mrs. Torkel Henryson died Thursday afternoon at her home after an illness of but a few days. The funeral service is held this afternoon (Friday). She was born in Norway December 28, 1824 and was married to Torkel Henryson in April 11, 1847. Mr. and Mrs. Henryson came to this country and lived in Illinois until the spring of 1865 when they removed to Iowa. They located on their farm northeast of Story City where they made their home until 1892, when they moved to town. Ten children were born to them, five dying in childhood. Two daughters, Mrs. Geo. Larson and Mrs. Sam Olson preceded their mother to the better land after they moved to Iowa. Beside the sorrowing husband three sons survive to mourn the loss of an affectionate mother, namely O. T. Henryson, who is a prosperous farmer north of town, T. T. and H. T. Henryson who are in the banking business. Her departure is a hard blow to her husband whose companion she has been for more than half a century. Had she lived until April 11 they would have been married 62 years. Mrs. Henryson was a God fearing woman all her life and to her faith was no doubt attributable the placidity of mind and heart which led to long and useful life.
