OBITUARY

DEATH OF J. M. STORM

John M. Storm, long one of the best known nd most highly respected citizens of Nevada died on Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ricker, at Arkansas City, Kansas. His remains will be brought to Nevada in charge of his sons, J. V. and A. V. and the funeral will be held at the home in this city of his daughter, Mrs. Bert Robison Wednesday at half past two o'clock The services will be conducted by Rev. R. E. Shaw, pastor of the Methodist church; and the funeral and final rites will be in charge of the Masons.

Mr. Storm was born in Oswego county, New York, March 18, 1820, and died as stated at Arkansas City, Kansas November 29, 1907, aged 87 years, 8 months and 11 days. His youth was spent in New York and hsi middle age in Illinois. From the latter state he came to Nevada and 1880; and here was, however, broken up by the death of Mrs. Storm, January 23, 1900, and since that time he has lived with his children who are considerably scattered. He was back to Nevada and Ames during the fall; and he had returned from Ames to Arkansas City only two weeks before his death. Mr. Storm was three times married, and he had twelve children of whom two died in infancy and one of the elder children after growing up and having a family of her own. Of the children who grew up three were of his first wife, one of the second and five of the third, the last Mrs. Storm being the one who came with him to Nevada and was so well and favorably known by all the people here. Besides his nine surviving children Mr. Storm leaves 33 grand children and a wide circle of sincere friends.

Mr. Storm was a man of most estimable character who bore well part in the affairs of his community, live honorably and well his long life of four score years and seven and has passed to the patriarch's reward.
