Death of Rev. Obed Long

Rev. Obed Long, a former pastor of Evangelical churches in this and other counties died on Friday evening last in the old people's building at the Soldier's Home at Marshalltown where he and Mrs. Long had been living. Mr. Long was a native of Ohio and served in an Ohio regiment during the war. After the war he became a preacher in the Iowa conference of the United Evangelical church, and among his charges were those at Colo, Iowa Center and Zearing. He retired from pastoral work about sixteen years ago and has since resided in Marshalltown. He was 75 years of age and leaves his widow and one sister.
