Tom Rasmussen, died last Sunday at the home of his son-in-law and his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Brown near Slater, in his 85th year. He came from Norway to Story county in 1872 and resided in Sheldahl till Slater was started; then in Slater till the death of Mrs. Rasmussen a few years ago.
